SITUATION ANALYSIS
After getting a call from long-time friend, Casting Director & Producer Leah Daniels-Butler; Nunez and Butler discussed how the Covid-19 quarantine has directly affected all of the out of work actors that may not qualify for SAG-AFTRA benefits. Butler, with her passion for actors and the well-being of others suggested to Nunez that they needed to take a negative and turn it into a positive and suggested that they use her 501(c)(3): The Help.Give.Care Foundation, to start a fund to help those actors who don’t qualify for union benefits. Since then they have reached out to several celebrity friends and Hollywood executives that have all agreed to lend a helping hand in their efforts.
OUR INITIATIVE
The Help.Give.Care Foundation was created to assist in times like these. The foundation headed by Leah Daniels-Butler & her husband Henry Butler has partnered with actor Miguel Nunez to turn recent negative experiences into a positive initiative. The partnership between Nunez and The Help.Give.Care Foundation will raise monies to be distributed to out-of-work actors that fall under specific guidelines which will include the elderly, day players, and actors with disabilities.
The foundation will be teaming up with LDB Casting to set-up a separate fund to assist the needs of Casting Associates and Assistants that have also been affected by the industry closure, says Daniels Butler.
